Language
Turkish is the official language of Northern Cyprus but fortunately English is widely understood.
Currency
The Turkish lire is used in Northern Cyprus. Sterling and euro are also widely accepted.
Climate
The climate of Northern Cyprus is typically Mediterranean. Summers (June to September) are hot and dry, winters (November to March) are moderately rainy with a mild temperature. Spring and autumn are warm and pleasant. The average annual temperature is 20 degrees C (68F). Summer temperatures average 30 degrees C (90F) with the coldest months of January and February 10 degrees C (50F).
How to get there
Fly from London Heathrow/Gatwick/Stansted or Manchester and other UK airports to Ercan, North Cyprus, via Turkey. Alternatively you can fly into Larnaca, Southern Cyprus and a pick up can be arranged for approximately £50. Taxis from Ercan to Alsancak cost around £30. Recommended websites for flights:
